They are considered the most important intercessionaries between God and humans and it is they who command the legions of Heaven in their constant battle with the forces Of Darkness Of the four Archangels, Michael most always ranks the highest and is traditionally said to "hold the key to the Kingdom of Heaven" In fact, so invincible is Michael that in 1950 Pope Pious XXLLL declared him to be the patron of police officers.
